Team Bravo kicked off their 2014 summer HKAHC Summer Novice Division campaign with a pair of losses.

The team was first shut out by WIHO with a score of 1-0.  Despite out-shooting WIHO 23-10, Bravo was unable to solve WIHO substitute goalie Andy Mak.

Bravo’s second consecutive loss came against division favorites Merit with a final score of 4-1.  Budding star John Ng scored the lone goal for Bravo and goalie Antony Chan made 18 saves out of a total of 22 shots faced.

Michael “The Hulk” Shoong was assessed a questionable body checking penalty with just 19 seconds remaining in the game.  With the league’s experimental new rule, Shoong received a 2 minute minor penalty plus a 10 minute personal misconduct.

Shoong was enraged and quickly transformed into The Hulk.  He banged his stock on the boards to rack up another misconduct, and then he flung his stick towards his back whole screaming to the referee in front of him.

One of the referees deemed it a dangerous act and assessed The Hulk a match penalty, worth 25 minutes on the scoresheet.  At the end of the game, The Hulk amassed a total of 37 penalty minutes in a 40-minute game.

Shoong is suspended for the next two games, but at least Bravo now has a league leader in the PIM category.
