HKAHL Novice Division 4th-placed Bravo and 5th-placed HKCAD (formerly SWAG) played a tight checking game Sunday night.  Both teams were scoreless until Ninja Duck scored the game winning goal midway through the third period.  Antony “Lamo” Chan’s Hair Power ™ miracally turned away all 12 shots he faced, and Bravo went on and win the game 3-0.

“The Summoner was really the first star of the game,” said Lamo after the game.  The Summoner was seen murmuring through out the game.  Though never confirmed, it was thought that the team was struck by a magic spell sometime during the second period.

Scott Yang was the first to feel the effects of the magic.  Midway through the second period, the normally calm and ultra-sportsmanlike player-manager earned his first penalty of the season by going berzerk  and roughed up HKCAD player Richard Ma.

Started in the third period when Ninja Duck scored his 4th goal of the season with a pass from potential Rookie of the Year candidate Mark Mckeown. Ninja Duck also became the league leading scorer with 6 points.

The Summoner’s magic continued into the third period when HKCAD goalie Richard Ng magically disappeared from the net with 2 minutes remaining in the game. Bravo forward John Ng took the opportunity and scored the insurance goal.

HKF later scored an empty net goal and team Bravo won their second game in a row after finishing the first round with no wins.

With the win, Bravo pulled 6 points ahead of HKCAD and had sole possession of the final playoff spot. They are also only just 2 points behind 3rd placed WIHO with 1 extra game in hand.

Bravo will play 2nd placed Merit this coming Sunday at 10:15pm.
