Bravo Finally Wins

we won

Round one of the HKAHL completed at MegaIce on 10th November with a game between 4th-place Bravo and 1st-place AIH (previously The Rock).  Despite a good team effort, Bravo lost the game by a score of 4-1.

Merit team manager Ed Wong watched the game and was surprised with the good showing from Bravo, “AIH is always a tough team to play against, I think Bravo did well.  The game looked quite even and some of us even thought Bravo would have won.”  Wong was right as shots on goal were 21-17 for AIH.  The teams were evenly matched but Bravo came up short.

One week later Bravo played WIHO, the team which Bravo lost to in the season opener by a score of 1-0.

As Bravo was still seeking their first win of the season, so manager Yang called for a team meeting at the “Nippon Sushi” Restaurant prior to the game.  The super delicious food seemed to have provided an extra energy boost to those who joined the team meeting.   Bravo jumped out to a very aggressive start as soon as the puck was dropped and pressed hard with an ultra-offensive formation.  Michael Shoong, Doug Crang, and Murphy Cheung scored for Bravo and they cruised to victory with a 3-0 shutout.  Antony “Lamo” Chan made 12 saves for the shutout.

Doug “Ninja Duck” Crang has 3 goals and 2 assists in 5 games.  He is tied (with 5 other players) for first place in the scoring race.

Bravo is still in sole possession of 4th place in league standings, still 5 points behind WIHO, but Bravo now has a 3 point cushion from last placed SWAG.  Bravo looks to extend the lead this Sunday as they play SWAG at 9:15 pm.
