The Summoner and HKF Powered MI Bravo To Division C

Bravo Celebration

MI Bravo went into the last round-robin game in the HKAHC Summer League (Round 2) Sunday night as the 1st placed team in Division D.  After beating WIHO Avida and tying Grizzly, MI Bravo would win promotion to Division C with a win against SWAG.  With defenseman Michael Shoong still out, the team called in JL’er Otto Chan.

Replacement player Otto Chan proved to be the right choice as he set the tone for the game by scoring just one minute into the game.  Less than two minutes later, super-hot forward “HKF” Ho Ka Fai scored and extended his amazing scoring streak.  Player-Manager Scott Yang, captain Murphy Cheung, and team summoner Patricia Ng all scored a goal for the team.

HKF would end the night with a spectacular performance of 2 goals and 2 assists.  However, the highlight of the night absolutely belonged to Patricia Ng.  Forwards Jo Ma and HKF created a cross-ice pass to the center of the goal crease, and The Summoner one-timed the puck into the net with a thundering slap shot.  The entire rink was complete silent for a second immediately after The Summoner scored, then erupted into cheers and applause when they realized they have just witnessed The Summoner’s immortal powers.

MI Bravo finished round 2 of the Summer League in first place.  HKF scored 6 goals and 2 assists and became top scorer of Division D for this round.  Goalie Antony “Lamo” Chan also ranked first in goaltenders with an unbelievable 0.923 GAA.

During the post-game interview, captain Murphy Cheung said, “It’s nice to finally win something.  But this short glorious moment also means the start of a long and grueling journey in the fight to remain in Division C in Round 3.

Bravo will meet rivals Merit Thinkers tomorrow night (Tuesday) at 23:00.  Merit Thinkers beat Bravo in a close 1-0 game and won promotion to Division C in Round 1.  Bravo will certainly want to avenge their previous loss.
